On 8th December, for the second year running, the Reaching Lives Social Club held a Christmas knees-up at the Apollonia Greek restaurant in Gants Hill, Redbridge.
The restaurant was packed with over 100 people, 50 from Reaching Lives along with groups of teachers from local schools and staff from Barclays Bank (who were given a friendly booing!). This, combined with the friendly welcome we were given created a great party atmosphere.
The evening was a mixture of amazing Greek food and entertainment. As usual the Reaching Lives group were the first to the dance floor joining in with a Greek Tom Jones impersonator, a Greek dancer who balanced a tower of glasses on his head and took a conga line up the street and even a belly dancer who danced on the tables and got everyone joining in the fun.
Throughout the entertainment we had a meze of Greek food delivered to our tables, although everyone was having such a great time they had to be dragged off the dance floor to eat it!
Once again a fun time was had by all, with the last people leaving the restaurant after midnight with sore feet and a full stomach!
