Supported Living

Supported living

Our supported living service is designed to allow people across Essex to live with a greater level of independence. Part of this solution is through our supported living accommodation. You can find an overview of each home below, or click on the links for full details.

Chantry Way

Chantry Way is a low support home for four adults with a learning disability. Our philosophy is to encourage residents to participate as fully as possible in making choices about their lives. To encourage them to develop their skills, they help with housework, shopping and cooking, and even take responsibility for their own finances, with our support. They also regularly go to social events, such as the cinema, and keep fit, music and craft classes, as well as on holiday.

The house is homely and personalised by the residents, and is close to shops and bus routes. For full details click here (PDF 33kb).

Cressing Road

Cressing Road is split between a semi-detached house and a purpose-built bungalow, and provides support to eight adults with a learning disability. Our residents come and go as they please, only telling our team if they'll be out for long periods. Two of the people living here work in a supported garden centre – with one person even making their own vegetable garden!

Most residents go on holiday and day trips, and take part in various community activities. Of course, our team's on hand to provide support, but independence is encouraged where possible. For full details click here (PDF 33kb).

Glendale

Glendale 1 and 2 are two houses that provide support to eight adults with learning disabilities. All of our residents live independent lifestyles and are able to access community facilities and the local area on their own.

Both properties have a communal bathroom, kitchen and homely lounge, as well as four bedrooms which are all personalised by people living here. As well as a relaxing games room with a dart board, music system and easy chairs, we've a communal garden with various sheds and greenhouses. For full details click here (PDF 31kb).
